I Will Be the Gladdest Thing Under the Sun~

Postby Chuey » Wed Sep 16, 2009 2:38 pm

Chorus today was absolutely excellent. Chorus has turned to be my favorite class, for a matter of fact. Whether or not you recall, my favorite song out of three we have now is Afternoon On A Hill. I cannot find a sole media file on the internet but groups singing a variation of it. Well, as you may also recall, there are only three guys in our class, Cory, whom has a great voice, Chris, whom I never physically hear singing, and me! Well, our teacher as well as my friends have told me that my voice sounds excellent. Sam even said at the start of biology that I sound awesome when we sing.

Well, Cory today decided he wouldn't sing the first part of the song where our section sings (guys and the third row of girls) so I'd be the only guy (or one, basically) you could hear. He went along with his plan, which he did so everyone could hear me and almost like a test where I didn't rely on him to follow (to sing). I could hear myself, I saw tons of smiling faces looking at me, mouths open in awe, of course, and I really overpowered the other voices. I was clearly the best singer right there.

And then when school was done, my aunt (Jeff's mom) was driving by and offered me a ride. I got home at 2:18 instead of ~2:34 and I didn't have to my break my back and neck to do so, so chorus (as a whole) and this ride REALLY gave my day a fantastic end. Now to do homework, study later on, and play my new games, my day will be pretty great compared to my crappy Monday.

I must say it again. John was absolute trash.

It takes less than 10 notes to impress someone, more than a million to be remembered.

Chorus is fun, but I actually feel sort of over powered by the people who have been in the A Cappella choir for years. But I'm not the only one, at least. All of the other guys who are new this year are like me when it comes to actually hitting notes. But when all of the baritones are there, I think it becomes significantly easier. So I guess this just means no solos and I'll be good.

Oh, and I finally got the independent study with the chorus teacher. I have the exciting task of organizing all the music in the music closet, along with cataloging the titles and number of copies per song, and numbering the boxes. I guess it's gonna be a semester-long project, but I guess I won't be helping out the Concert Choir guys.

I actually remember this exact moment. I'm not a fan of the pressure that occurred there.
