I saw this on the news this morning. They made it seem like just a big iTouch or something like that.

It's extremely overhyped IMO. If you're going to spend $500, you may as well buy a fully functional laptop. Really, it's nothing more than an oversized iPod touch.

QFT

Why on earth would you buy a $500-$800 laptop that doesn't even have Flash?

Well, I'll admit I'm not a big apple fan or anything... but...

I do have to say the iPad seems to be an entirely new category of device. It's too big to be functional light load computer (such as a smartphone) and it's not powerful enough to be a laptop. In other words, it's something in between. However, what is the need for something in between?

With an iPod touch or an iPhone, you can fit it in your pocket and check or reply to e-mails and such on the go. Sure you can do that on an iPad, but for that size, why not just carry a laptop? Chances are you have one anyway.

It's a toy. An expensive toy.

Already have an iPod. I don't need the king size.
